From the Inside Flap

This charming tale of Michael, Emily, and their parents as they explore each national park and discover scat and tracks is designed to both entertain and educate. Wildlife can be elusive, and both kids are disappointed when, at first, they don't encounter many animals in the park. The kids quickly learn, however, that there are animals all around, and these creatures leave behind scat and tracks. Before long, the kids are able to identify animal tracks and determine what a creature has eaten recently. Colorful illustrations of animals and their scat and tracks supplement this lively tale, and a quick-reference chart at the back will make field identification a breeze!

My family and I went to Tennessee this year for vacation. While shopping for souvenirs, I noticed this book behind the desk. It was being held for a customer, and it was the last one they had. I came up empty handed looking for this book in other store. I searched for it on Amazon and ta-da!! There it was. This book was both humorous and full of fun facts. It was the perfect book to a perfect vacation.

This book is great. Fun and educational. We camp with our 3 kids often and like this for our nature walks. My 2 boys ages 5,7 love it.

This book is great! It's a children's book but it's actually pretty informative. If you've ever wondered what kind of animal left you a "present" to find in the woods this book will give you the answer.

Grandkids loved it..

Great learning for boys before we travel.

Wonderful book. Very informative for young children without being too grossly informative. Wish there had been a wider variety among all the books. Children noticed same animals in every book. There were many more animals that could have been used. Would have been informative to compare animals that were different but belonged to the same family of animals. Book held the interest of the kids and produced a variety of questions from their reading.

Have we run out of mysteries for teen detectives to solve? I have to admit I'm kind of obsessed with the attention to detail the illustrator took when drawing the poop pile on the cover. Not to spoil the ending, but clearly the guy in the back with the hat did it.
